The tour

Embark on a remarkable journey by rendezvousing with your guide at our Æventyr Adventure store nestled in the city center. Here, you'll be attired in the appropriate attire and outfitted with a pair of snowshoes, priming you for the adventure ahead. Our voyage commences as we embark on a 30-minute drive in our state-of-the-art environmentally conscious electric van, immersing you in the mesmerizing natural splendor that envelops Alta. Our destination, the renowned Gargia Lodge, nestled in the southern valley of Alta, awaits as our base for exploration.

Upon reaching Gargia, a haven of untamed wilderness, we gear up and embark on a leisurely 45 to 60-minute stroll through the captivating Gargia Valley, where a tapestry of pine and birch forest unfolds around you, creating a scene of unparalleled beauty.

Following our invigorating walk, the lodge becomes a cozy haven as we gather around the crackling fireplace. Here, while indulging in the warmth of coffee and partaking in a traditional Norwegian waffle cake, your guide will regale you with tales steeped in local culture and the rich history of the Alta region.

As our day's expedition draws to a close, our return journey to Alta unveils a captivating stop at the renowned Sorrisniva ice hotel. Marvel at the exquisite ice art and sculptures, a truly bucket-list-worthy experience that begs to be captured in photographs.

Upon returning to the vibrant city of Alta, the urban arctic lifestyle beckons. Relish the opportunity to savor a delectable lunch or dinner at the nearby restaurants, further enriching your experience as you reflect on the day's unforgettable escapade.

Wear warm clothes and shoes in accordance with the weather forecast and season. In our premises we have a small selection of wool underwear, hats and souvenirs for sale. In addition, we have suits and winter shoes you can borrow from us.

If you have food allergies please let us know during the booking. The waffle cakes contain gluten, but we will be happy to provide an alternative.

Notes & Restrictions

Wear warm clothes in accordance with the weather forecast and season. We recommend wool underwear from head to toe, also wool socks. Bring a warm sweater or jacket, hat and scarf. In our premises we have a small selection of wool underwear and hats for sale.

A minimum of 2 guests is required for this activity. We reserve the right to cancel the tour if this minimum requirement is not met.
