The tour

Embark on a captivating journey by meeting us at our Æventyr Adventure Store, centrally located in the city. Arrive 5-10 minutes before the Tour's commencement to ensure a smooth start. Our expedition takes flight as we transport you to the scenic Gargia Valley, approximately 25 kilometers from Alta.

Upon reaching Gargia, a lodge steeped in a 150-year-old legacy, your guide will escort you to our gallery, where a captivating collection of historical photographs awaits, narrating the lodge's evolution and the tales of the old postal route. A heartwarming, home-cooked traditional lunch will be served, providing sustenance as you delve into stories about the bygone postal route and the region you'll traverse later in the day. Essential preparations come next, as you're outfitted with thermosuits, balaclavas, gloves, and boots, all designed to ensure your comfort during the upcoming journey.

Equipped and attired, a comprehensive snowmobile driving instruction ensures you're poised to navigate our course. Ready and eager, we set out on our adventure. Upon arriving at the frozen expanse of a lake, your guide imparts knowledge on ice fishing, providing insights and techniques to master this age-old practice. As we explore, indulgent snacks and a comforting hot beverage enhance the experience. On our return journey, a visit to Bæskades, previously introduced, adds a touch of familiarity to our route.

Concluding our day's exploits, we shed our thermal suits back at Gargia, preparing for the journey back to the city center. Our return completes the circle, transporting you from the realm of exploration back to the heart of where it all began.

Practical information

Minimum age to join this trip is 1 years old, all children under 12 years will be seated in the sled behind the guide´s snowmobile.

You will share a snowmobile with another passenger, so each of you will get to drive half of the trip. If you want to drive all by yourself, simply add the Single Driver Add-On when booking.

Please inform us about allergies at least 24 hours before your departure. We can accommodate a wide range of allergies.

This trip is not recommended for those who have back problems or for those who are pregnant.

What you need to bring:

• Woolen underwear
• Woolen socks (can be borrowed if needed)
• Warm clothes
• Sunglasses
• Driving license

Only the holders of a valid B class driver’s license are allowed to drive a snowmobile on this trip. You are required to present your license for verification before taking part on the ride. Guests without a valid driving license are only allowed to be passengers (min. age to sit on the snowmobile is 12 years)

Changes may occur due to weather. Æventyr reserves the right to change the itinerary or cancel the trip if the weather conditions appear unsafe.
