The tour
10:30
Meet us at our Æventyr Adventure Store in the city center 5-10 minutes before the start of the Tour. From here we will drive you to Gargia Valley, approx. 25km from Alta.
11:15
After arriving at Gargia, a lodge with a 150-year-old history, your guide will take you up to our gallery where you can look at old, historical photographs from the lodge and the old postal route. You will also be served a home-cooked, warm traditional meal for lunch and learn about the old postal route and the area you will be driving through later on this day. Before we go out you will be equipped with thermosuits, balaclavas, gloves and boots for the trip.
12:00
After getting dressed you will receive an instruction on how to drive the snowmobiles. Now we are ready and can start our adventure.
13:30
We will arrive at Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge. Here we will stop for a coffee and a traditional Norwegian waffle before we head back to Gargia Lodge.
15:30
We arrive back at Gargia Lodge.
16:30
We will drop you off in the city center where we started our trip.
Practical information
You will share a snowmobile with another passenger, so each of you will get to drive half of the trip. If you want to drive all by yourself, simply add the Single Driver Add-On when booking.
Please inform us about allergies at least 24 hours before your departure. We can accommodate a wide range of allergies.
This trip is not recommended for those who have back problems or for those who are pregnant.
What you need to bring:
- Woolen underlayer
- Woolen socks (can be borrowed if needed)
- Warm clothes
- Warm shoes
- Sunglasses
- Driving license
Only the holders of a valid B class driver’s license are allowed to drive a snowmobile on this trip. You are required to present your license for verification before taking part on the ride. Guests without a valid driving license are only allowed to be passengers (min. age is 12)
