The tour

Prepare to embark on an unforgettable journey by meeting us at our Æventyr Adventure Store located in the bustling city center, ensuring your timely arrival 5-10 minutes before the Tour's scheduled commencement. Our expedition begins as we transport you to the enchanting Gargia Valley, a scenic 25-kilometer drive away from Alta.

Upon reaching Gargia, a venerable lodge steeped in 150 years of history, your adept guide will usher you to our gallery, where a collection of vintage photographs offers a glimpse into the lodge's past and the storied postal route of yore. As you delve into the captivating narratives, a heartwarming, home-cooked traditional meal awaits, enriching your lunch experience and deepening your understanding of the area's historical significance and the old postal route. To ensure your comfort, you will be outfitted with essential gear, including thermosuits, balaclavas, gloves, and boots, all preludes to the adventure that awaits.

Following your outfitting, an informative snowmobile driving tutorial will equip you with the skills needed for the upcoming exploration. Now suitably prepared, our adventure begins in earnest. Our path leads us to the Suolovuopmi Mountain Lodge, where a pause for rejuvenating coffee and indulging in a classic Norwegian waffle provides a moment of tranquility before we set our course back towards Gargia Lodge.

The conclusion of our expedition brings us back to the welcoming embrace of Gargia Lodge, marking the end of our immersive experience. As we bid farewell to the lodge, we shall return you to the very heart of the city center, completing the cycle of this remarkable journey.

Practical information

You will share a snowmobile with another passenger, so each of you will get to drive half of the trip. If you want to drive all by yourself, simply add the Single Driver Add-On when booking.

Please inform us about allergies at least 24 hours before your departure. We can accommodate a wide range of allergies.

This trip is not recommended for those who have back problems or for those who are pregnant.

What you need to bring:

• Woolen underwear
• Woolen socks (can be borrowed if needed)
• Warm clothes
• Sunglasses
• Driving license

Only the holders of a valid B class driver’s license are allowed to drive a snowmobile on this trip. You are required to present your license for verification before taking part on the ride. Guests without a valid driving license are only allowed to be passengers (min. age is 12)

Changes may occur due to weather. Æventyr reserves the right to change the itinerary or cancel the trip if the weather conditions appear unsafe.
