Life in the Dogyard

Meet the Huskies & Try Life as a Musher

Get a true taste of Arctic life with an unforgettable visit to our dogyard, where you'll step into the boots of a musher and learn what it really takes to care for a team of sled dogs. This 1.5–2 hour experience is perfect for dog lovers and curious travelers who want to connect with the heart of northern culture—our hardworking and joyful huskies.

Upon arrival, you’ll be welcomed by a chorus of wagging tails and excited barks. Your guide, an experienced musher, will introduce you to the dogs and walk you through the daily routines of the dogyard. You'll get hands-on as you help feed the huskies, learn how to clean and maintain the kennels, and assist in checking on the dogs’ health and well-being.

As you work alongside the musher, you'll hear stories from the trail, learn about the unique personalities of the dogs, and gain a deeper understanding of the strong bond between humans and sled dogs. There will be plenty of time to interact with the dogs—many of whom love cuddles and photos.

We’ll wrap up the visit with a warm drink and a chance to ask questions around the fire or in our cozy yard shelter.

Get close to the huskies, experience daily life in the dogyard, and discover what it means to be a musher—beyond the sled.
